My Thing. Susie Crow designer maker of Let Us Pretend

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
I want to inspire originality and the importance of imagination. It’s okay to tune out of the world for a bit, to slip on a cape and shimmy. Don’t worry about what anyone else wears to the pub, just wear it.

Susie is the founder, designer and maker of Let us Pretend. Making sparkly things - mainly capes - but sometimes masks, stockings, detachable collars, bunting and berets. Sequins, tinsel & glitter, if it brings joy and dazzles Susie will use it.

The ‘One Thing’ I want to be known for

I want everyone from babies all the way through to grannys to pop on one of my capes, to smile and feel instantly transported to a world of esCAPEism and fun.

The ‘One Thing’ I care about deeply

I care deeply about my products being available to all. Whether that be sizing or price point.

The ‘One Thing’ I want to inspire in others

I want to inspire originality and the importance of imagination. It's okay to tune out of the world for a bit, to slip on a cape and shimmy. Don't worry about what anyone else wears to the pub, just wear it.

The ‘One Thing’ I enjoy most about the creative process

Being creative keeps me entirely in a present state of mind. I don't think about anything else when I work apart from the task in hand.

The ‘One Thing’ I want others to feel when they engage with my work

I want others to feel delight when they shop from Let Us Pretend. I want to recreate that feeling of being a child at Christmas. There is usually a lead time of around 3 weeks for my products so I am aware that when people order from me they have been waiting for a while and when it arrives it needs to feel worth the wait - from packaging to product and communication, to how it makes you feel when you pop the product on. I want my customers to feel the love that goes into Let Us Pretend.
