I feel strongly about the positive effects that the objects we invite in our homes can have on us. I would love to inspire others to collect fewer, better objects, to set aside passing trends and opting for meaningful objects.

Raffaella is the director and founder of Revolution of Forms, an online store offering a curated collection of contemporary Mexican design and craft for conscious collectors looking to enhance their home with uniquely crafted objects.

She is passionate about design and handmade objects. In her previous role, Raffaella applied her knowledge and expertise of design, architecture and visual art to curate ground breaking sales of objects and furniture in the London and New York salesrooms of a renowned auction house.

After an inspirational visit to Mexico, meeting craftsmen and designers using traditional methods to create beautiful objects with a contemporary aesthetic, Raffaella decided to start a project where her passion and eye for design are combined with sustainability and ethical principles.

The ‘One Thing’ I want to be known for

Curating a design offering that combines contemporary aesthetic with sustainability and ethical principles. Finding simple ways to combine a conscious lifestyle and a passion for design should be easy and that is what inspired me to start Revolution of Forms.

I want to use my expertise and experience in fine art and design to promote contemporary craft and design and to provide makers with an opportunity to connect to a wider audience looking for meaningful objects.

The ‘One Thing’ I care about deeply

I care deeply about telling the stories behind each object. Each piece I decide to include in our collection is an expression of the creativity of the designer, the knowledge of artisans working with techniques that are virtually unchanged for centuries and the innovation that allows for tradition to be kept alive, whilst whilst promoting modern taste.

By telling the stories behind each object and provide clear provenance, I want to facilitate a deeper connection and create a community of passionate collectors that choose to make a difference when buying pieces for their home.

The ‘One Thing’ I want to inspire in others

I would like to show others how we can be more mindful in our consuming habits, without compromising on aesthetic. I have recently completed a MSc in Psychology and my dissertation project looked at the effects of buying crafts on wellbeing.

I feel strongly about the positive effects that the objects we invite in our homes can have on us. I would love to inspire others to collect fewer, better objects, to set aside passing trends and opting for meaningful objects.

The ‘One Thing’ I enjoy most about the creative process

During the last year I discovered how much travelling is a fundamental part of my creative process. I started Revolution of Forms after a journey to Mexico and named the brand after a book on the Schools of Arts in Cuba, which I visited in 2018.

When I travel my mind opens, I feel more focused and free to explore creative avenues that might be hard to get to when I am stuck in one place.

The ‘One Thing’ I want others to feel when they engage with my work

I would like for people to feel the passion and authenticity I express in my work. Revolution of Forms is born out of my love for crafted objects and informed by my experience and knowledge of design, it's a very personal project, but I wish for clients to feel that they can trust my expertise as well.
